Be on your guard for the enemy is conspiring to draw the children of God away from the words of the Father, for the devil knows the power that these words of truth and life carry.
Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
Do not neglect the word of God, don’t scrimp on reading, listening to and speaking out the word of God. It’s a supply line of necessary sustenance and without it you will wither and lose direction. Look honestly at your life. Are you truly where you want and need to be? Why is that? Do you need to shine the lamp of God’s word out in front of you to illuminate the path ahead?
The enemy is throwing all manner of distraction and subtle argument your way to try and dissuade you from drawing deep on the pure, unadulterated words of God. Don’t let him put a shade over your lamp.
Psalm 119:103-105
How sweet are your words to my taste, sweeter than honey to my mouth! I gain understanding from your precepts; therefore I hate every wrong path. Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.
