Ephesians 4:22-24
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
You are entirely new – not partially, not fractionally – but completely! When you ran into the arms of Jesus, you accepted His renewal project in your life where you didn’t just give up old ways, you accepted and came into new ways. Not only have you been saved out of a kingdom, you’ve been saved into The Kingdom and with this entry, you get the benefits and strengths of a citizen of this Kingdom.
So, why do you allow yourself to think as the ‘old you’ thought? Why do you often go back to your ‘old ways’? This is not who you are! In fact, quite the opposite. Be reminded that you are pure and blameless in God’s sight; that you are beautiful, strong, holy and loved. You’re powerful and free, a foreigner here yet a citizen there. You have access to the King’s resources to overthrow every temptation and work of darkness that intrudes into your life; you don’t have to accept the attack of the enemy as something you’ll just have to put up with, you get to end it in the powerful name of Jesus.
Stand tall, you are new; completely, totally, entirely, wholly, thoroughly, fully, unreservedly new. Now go and be the real you!
