Usher in the King

Messy life marked the entrance of Jesus. The world uses pomp and pageantry to mark a new king, but none of that was present in the manger. The King of Kings came to the world through a virgin birth, in blood and pain and messy life. The newborn cry of God made flesh echoed in a stable.

It’s time to make way for the King! It’s time to cry out for God’s kingdom to come, and with it, the King of all Kings. As we usher in the King, may we have wisdom on how to discern the messy life that precedes the King of Kings. Wisdom on how to welcome Him, and rejoice in the birthing of God’s kingdom here on earth.

Take hold of God’s promises and cling to them in joy. Remove the worldly distractions that keep the Lord at a distance. Hold onto what is holy and with a courageous breath, blow away all that is not of God. And rejoice, for the King is coming!

Make way for the King, for He is coming. Make way for the King of glory to come in. It’s time to lift up our heads and cry out King Jesus!

Psalm 24:9 (NIV)

Lift up your heads, you gates; lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in.

Revelation 19:16 (NIV)

On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
