Undivided Hope – your Lion Bites word for today

‘Let me be your only hope’, says the Lord. ‘Place all of your hope in me’. Don’t hope on anything else, anything less. Don’t compromise your hope, or ‘hedge your bets’ – as if you can divide up hope amongst various options, just in case one lets you down!
 
You have allowed too many other things to become your source of hope, to be your way of breakthrough. You have even placed your hope in other people and institutions – but God says to you today that He alone is your sure and strong foundation who will not let you down. Let go of your hope in these things and instead renew your hope in Him today. Remember His commandment, ‘I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery. You shall have no other gods before me’.
 
Just as you would set a lamp on a shelf to illuminate a dimly lit room, set the Lord alone, your eternally faithful God, as the hope in your life. Don’t divide your hope. He will light up your life and bring new vision and clarity to what seems desperate and dark.

I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit
