Proverbs 3:5-7
Trust in the lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take. Don’t be impressed with your own wisdom. Instead, fear the lord and turn away from evil.
You began a new adventure. Leaving the woods behind, you walked out into the open land, aiming for the mountain top and the goal that the Lord gave you. As always on the beginning of a journey up a mountain, the summit looks closer than it is – one steep climb should be all that it takes. But the reality of that climb is very different, however, and there have been times when you have found yourself amongst lower hills, on inclines and declines with the destination not appearing any closer. You know you have heard from God and should trust in Him, yet you have tried to depend on your own experience and knowledge to rationalise what is happening and where to go next.
The Lord says: ‘Trust me’. The mysteries of God are beyond our understanding and they are His to reveal and they will be discovered along the way. Stay faithful, keep the Lord’s promises and word in your heart. Keep walking and open your eyes and take in the view. Enjoy the journey because this is one that you will never repeat and there is much to learn along the way about yourself as well as about God.
The Lord will show you where to put your feet. Take this time to talk to God and to listen to Him. Do not be persuaded to take a different destination or allow the world to offer false comforts along the way that will take you off course. Let God build resilience in you so that the next hill seems even easier than the last… and you will ascend to the mountain top!
Psalm 37:23-24
The Lord makes firm the steps of one who delights in Him, though he might stumble he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with His hand.
