‘Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.’ Matthew 5:6 (NIV)
The Lord asks: “Look into a mirror and tell me what you see. You see yourself – but if you look longer and harder and deeper, you will start to see more. You will start to see what I see.
I see some of the hard edges of your humanity being rubbed smooth as you allow My Spirit to work in you. I see things of the world being laid down and surrendered. I see the darkness where sin lingers being made light by repentance and forgiveness. I see soul ties with the world and the enemy being cut. I see parts of your spiritual reflection starting to shine through and resemble My reflection.
I now urge you to press in further and earnestly pursue the ways of righteousness and the Kingdom values that will make your transformation complete. It will not be by works that righteousness will be gained, but by faith. As you increase your faith by trusting in Me for all things and following the teachings of My Word and listening to My Spirit to guide you, righteousness will flow from you like a mighty river.”
Activation:
Look into a mirror. Pray that all illusions and deceptions the enemy has planted in your mind, which prevent you from seeing yourself as God sees you, fall to the ground, in Jesus’ name. As the image clears, start to see your reflection beyond the physical – it should be like putting on a pair of spiritual spectacles to help you see better. Allow Holy Spirit to show your reflection as God sees you.
Acknowledge the work that the Lord has been doing in you, where you have grown in righteousness. Ask Holy Spirit to bring to your mind key scriptures and as you read the word aloud, allow Him to identify areas of your life that lack righteousness, such as unhealthy habits that need to be broken. By walking with Holy Spirit in His strength, are there things you can resolve spiritually and practically to increase your faith and grow in righteousness?
Proverbs 21:21 (NIV)
Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honour.
Ephesians 4:22-24 (NIV)
You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NIV)
All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
