The Spirit brings you strength – your Lion Bites word for today

John 16:7
But very truly I tell you, it is for your good that I am going away. Unless I go away, the Advocate will not come to you; but if I go, I will send him to you.

You have been given the Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ, not just as a warm blanket and a comfort – though He is – but also to strengthen and shore you up, that you might stand taller and be more resistant to the waves that crash against you. Just as reinforced concrete is strengthened by iron, so also the Spirit is your strengthening helper as you grow, so that you would not be weaker but would be more sure, secure and strong in Christ.

And Jesus says to you now, ‘Please don’t neglect time in our presence. Make space and allow Holy Spirit to fill you up, strengthening you for the day and the night. For I desire that you would carry my presence when you are awake and upright and not just when you are still and lying down.’

There is a greater ‘rigidity’ coming to you from God. Not that you would be brittle and inflexible but so that you would not be bent off course and therefore would continue to grow and fill the great destiny that God has given you. Would you welcome His Spirit in greater measure within you, to help you?

John 14:16-18
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever – the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.
