The Coming Wind

The winds are coming. Everything has been still for a while but now the dust begins to rise as the strong winds of the Lord blow into town. Are you ready for what is familiar to be churned up?

It’s not just cobwebs that are going to be swept away. A lot of familiar comforts may have to be let go of when the hurricane of God strikes your life. Don’t hold too tightly to things that you perceive as your ‘rights’ and ‘entitlements’ – because as the Lord moves our priorities will change. There’s nothing that you can take with you to Heaven, so why hold on to those things now? Those who are ready to go with the wind of the Lord – who are ready to be swept up and carried along – will find joy and peace in the depths of the wind. But those who try to go with Him whilst hanging onto their things of the world may find themselves being pulled, stretched and stressed.

You’ve been praying for the Lord to move in a mighty way – are you really ready to let go when He does?

Isaiah 40:10,23-24
See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power,
and he rules with a mighty arm.
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.
He brings princes to naught
and reduces the rulers of this world to nothing.
No sooner are they planted,
no sooner are they sown,
no sooner do they take root in the ground,
than he blows on them and they wither,
and a whirlwind sweeps them away like chaff.
