You are a bullet train and you are in motion. Stay the course; allow God’s momentum to drive you on.
A bullet train covers great distances at speed and with no deviation from its route. It cuts through the landscapes, through mountain tunnels, across vast plains and through bustling cities, without pausing and without distraction. It reaches its destinations on time – no delay. It does not shake, rattle, bump or wander around – its course is fixed and its wheels are firmly set on the rails. It is consistent, reliable, well-oiled; yet sleek and fast, a triumph of creativity and engineering.
What do you need to do to prepare yourself to accelerate like the bullet train? Have you found yourself in the sidings, are you meandering along country routes? Do you only see yourself as a tired, old steam engine, not ready for today’s rail routes? See yourself as God sees you. He has made you new and He has fitted you out for the journey. Release the brakes and trust God that He has laid the track and clamped your wheels firmly to the rails. Speed is upon you, by the mighty power of Jesus Christ!
Philippians 3:12-16
Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.
