Pursue holiness and do not wander from this. You are called to be holy. You are part of a holy people and you will stand out from the crowd because of this. It will set you apart from others around you, but you must retrain yourself to embrace the joy of being one of God’s set-apart people. Do not believe the misguided notion that you must be like everyone else in order to be winsome and attractive for Jesus. You are not supposed to blend in. After all, how can a shining light ever blend in?
Pursue holiness and purity. Clean out everything that is unfit or dishonourable to someone who professes to follow Christ. If you do, God’s promise to you is that you will be used by Him for honourable use and every good work. Isn’t that what you desire so much and ask of Him often?
It is not true that a life lived in holiness will necessarily make you ‘religious-spirited’, ‘legalistic’ or ‘Pharisaical’. Follow Jesus!
Make it your determined aim to be like Timothy, who Paul urged to, ‘Flee the evil desires of youth and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.’ 2 Timothy 2: (21)-22
