Because your heart was tender and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me and have torn your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, declares the Lord.
(2 Chronicles 34:27 ESV)
Holy Spirit is saying, have you recognised the tenderness of God to you? And His
faithfulness? He longs to bring you the experience of face-to-face pleasure of being
aware of His tenderness and kindness towards you. Then you can have compassion
on others. Like so much of the Fruit of the Spirit, it has to be experienced from God
first to take root in our lives. Or have you been like Jeremiah saying, “I’ve had it with these people?” Jeremiah stayed in the presence of God long enough to catch the heart of God for
the same folks.
Activation: Humbly ask the Lord to show you his gentle tenderness to you more than you
have known so far. Spend time reflecting with Him about a time when you have not been tender and caring to others, particularly those of the household of faith. Ask him how to proceed from now on with thanksgiving.
Luke 1:78 (TPT)
The splendour light of heaven’s glorious sunrise is about to break upon us in holy visitation, all because the merciful heart of our God is so very tender.
