Stretch your faith in God

The Lord desires to widen and expand your spiritual ‘gullet’ (i.e. theoesophagus, the part of your throat that swallows food). This is so you may receive more of Him, His goodness and all that He has for you! It is so that you might be enabled to digest and understand more of Him; and with a greater ease. In this sense, think of the gullet as representing your faith levels.

There have been times in the past when God has released certain things by revelation or His word to you and it has almost seemed like they have become stuck in your throat. Any constrictions in your faith will have caused these things to become stuck or hard to swallow. Constrictions can be caused by confusion, lack of understanding, low faith levels, doubt, fear and so on.

Don’t worry! Don’t try to work out all the things that you don’t fully understand right now, for God sees the beginning from the end. Stretch your faith in Him. Surely He is a good and faithful God who truly knows what is best for His children!

Ask the Holy Spirit for understanding and be obedient in the little things, the small details that have been revealed to you and that you are able to swallow. Then, your understanding will expand and grow. As you take the little steps of faith you will start to perceive the fullness of the Lord’s heart in a matter and the issues that were once cloudy and difficult to understand will begin to make sense!
