I saw a child wandering the streets and the lanes picking through the trash cans of broken promises. Then, without trumpet or fanfare, a very ordinary man came and sat beside the boy and waited patiently. The child walked around him, frustrated that his hunting had been interrupted. “What is it you seek?” the man asked. “A dad”, the boy replied as he kept on searching.
“Look up”, the man whispered, and something like a warm breeze touched the boy and warmed his heart like no other. The boy turned, and the man stretched out his hand. “Come”, Jesus said, “my father is your father, and we can go and meet him together. He’s waiting for you.”
The father is calling you today. His love is beyond all others, His patience is unending, and He desires to be with you.
Romans 8:15-16
So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God’s Spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, “Abba, Father.” For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children.
