Shine like a Star

Have you ever been so deep in a hole that only the skin-crawling sensations of shame and desperation were your only companions? 

Come out of the grave you have dug yourself. 

Let the life-giving hand of Jesus pull you free from the muck and mire you’ve been in. For there is no hole so deep that God cannot reach down and pull you out. For you are a precious One. A Holy One. A royal priest called to be the living, breathing home of God Himself. 

Take the time to feel God’s Spirit in your heart. 

Stop. 

Close your eyes. 

Breathe in. 

Marvel that you carry the eternal King of King’s Spirit in your very heart. That the Lord trusts you to carry Himself. For you are the living tabernacle of God.

Now lift your head and shine like a star. Be the light God has called you to be. Hold out the word of life to a starving generation, hungry for the Truth that only Jesus can be. 

Activation: We are called to be light in this world. Ask God what type of light you are in your current season. Are you a lighthouse guiding people through rough seas to Jesus? Are you a night light, soothing people scared of the enemy darkness by pointing them to God? Are you a bonfire, blazing on a hill? Or a fluorescent light, fiercely chasing away all shadows with God’s holy presence? Whatever light you are, go forth and be that light to the people around you, pointing them to Jesus.

Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
