Shame and reproach, rolled away  – your Lion Bites word for today

At Gilgal the Lord told Joshua that He had rolled away the shame and disgrace of Israel’s slavery in Egypt.

Joshua 5:9
Then the LORD said to Joshua, “Today I have rolled away the reproach of Egypt from you.” So the place has been called Gilgal to this day.

What reproach or shame, guilt or sin do you need to let the Lord roll away from you so that you can go forward unafraid? Are you needlessly holding on to the old things, old hurts, old habits and old pains?  Do you continue to fight many old battles that actually ended long ago?  Are you still living in slavery when this has already been rolled away for you?

The Lord said to Moses, ‘You have stayed too long at this mountain’ (Deuteronomy 1:6) Isn’t it time, beloved, that you moved on?

As the stone rolled away from the tomb a new day began and the resurrected Lord stepped out into the sunlight! Don’t let the past contain you or stop you from fulfilling your destiny. You are no longer a slave; your shame and reproach has been rolled away. Live differently today.
