Our Lord Jesus Christ would have you know that you have not reached your peak! He is far from finished with you on this earth and there is so much more to be unwrapped of your spiritual gifting!
Picture it like this: the Holy Spirit came to you in the garden and gave you a bright, plastic tennis racket. You picked it up and Jesus Himself delighted to throw the sponge ball to you and let you learn to hit it. Have you eventually become bored with game of ‘bat and ball’? Have you set it down? Or have you kept on playing – enjoying the game, but asking, ‘Is this it? I’m happy Lord and will stay here if you want …. but is this really it?’
To all of us, wherever we are in the garden, the Spirit of the Lord says, ‘Come and look at what your Bridegroom has given you. There, in the garden lies a wrapped present… come and open it up…’
It looks like an Olympic-standard javelin. The Lord reassures you today that He has gifted you with more than you know. He has plans and desires to train you up as a gold-medal athlete, to hone and tone and train you for your event.
Agree to pick it up and train for excellence.
