Scan the horizon for my beacons

‘My child, narrow your eyes’, says the Lord. It is time to focus your eyes, it is time to survey your situation like the eagle might look across its glen. You need to scan the horizon, you must take everything in and process it. Filter everything that you see carefully through the Holy Spirit, whom I have given you. Narrow your eyes. This is not a day for wide-eyed or vacant stares, this is the day of those who see, discern and understand. I have much to show you, says the Lord… and indeed I am showing you much already. Look! Be alert! Be vigilant! Do not entertain deception, temptation or distraction but instead look for the openings and the opportunities that I am presenting you with. These are the places where I have given you my favour, ahead of time. I am the Lord, your God, I go before you and light the way. Look for my light, look for my fires – look for my beacons.

Deuteronomy 1:30-33
The LORD your God, who is going before you, will fight for you, as He did for you in Egypt, before your very eyes, and in the desert. There you saw how the LORD your God carried you, as a father carries his son, all the way you went until you reached this place. In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God, who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.
