I heard God say, ‘I am both your Father and the Lord God Almighty. Would you learn how to sit on my lap and nestle into my chest – but also would you learn to kneel at my feet, bowing in awe and reverence?’
For God is restoring awe back to His church, a reverence that will produce wisdom, affecting His people’s response to the world around them. He is coming with wonder and with holiness and He is bringing a revelation of His righteousness and purity to you that you have not yet known.
For these are the days of wonder and for this to happen you must know what it is to be in awe, on your face before God. He is Lord and He is Father, He is both to you but now, even as you have learned who He is as a father, you will also begin to learn who He is as the Lord over all things.
And God asked, ‘So, would you learn of my lordship and my holiness? Study this in my word and focus on it in your sung worship. As you do this I will restore awe, wonder and reverence back to my people, my Church.’
Psalm 33:8
Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him.
Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfil his good purpose.
