Make room for God –  your Lion Bites word for today

I saw a peculiar vision of a husband and wife clearing their entire house of all its contents in preparation for a guest they were hosting who would arrive soon. Rather than setting the table and hoovering their carpet, the removed the table and lifted the carpet. As the guest entered, they brought with them many new items of furniture and decoration, fresh wallpaper and paint as well as ornaments and appliances. The homeowners had made room, and the new swiftly followed.

God says “make room. Make room for the new. Make room for the fresh. Make room for me. For this hour is not a replica of your previous years, I am not moving, in the same manner, I did 20 years ago, nor am I releasing what I’ve already released. I am doing a new thing, and it is now time for you to make room for this to come and occupy.”

Many of you have been aware that something was stirring in the spirit and you’ve struggled to articulate what it is; often the clarity comes only once we step out in faith and position ourselves to receive this by ‘making room’ for God, whatever that may look like. Some of you know that you are to lay down involvement in specific activities, others are aware of the call to rise early in the morning to seek God determinedly, for all, there is a call to make room for God to come and release His new.

Ask God today, what does making room for you look like in my life? What have I to lay down? What have I to clear? As you ask, God will instruct.

Isaiah 40:3-5
A voice of one calling: “In the wilderness prepare the way for the Lord; make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain. And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
