Lift your eyes to the promises

Matthew 6:22-23
The eye is the lamp of the body; so then if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!

How clear are your eyes? What is it that you set your focus upon and your attention in? Are they on the dark and hard circumstances around you? Are they on the sickness, pain and poverty of this world?

The enemy of your faith would have you focus on what he is doing and on all the darkness, pain and destruction that he causes. But I say:

‘Lift your eyes above the circumstances around you to the promises that I have made’.

These promises are sure; and are always delivered to those who would choose to believe and partake of them.

The children of Israel had to choose to look at my promise and raise their eyes away from the serpents that filled their camp. Otherwise, when they were bitten they would die (Numbers 21:6-9). Their story is recorded as an example for you today, so that when life’s circumstances hinder you, instead of looking at those circumstances and hindrances, you can lift your eyes to the promise of healing, deliverance and provision.

Many are the promises in my Word which have been raised up as a standard pronouncing victory, but few are those who set their eyes on that standard and receive the benefits. Set your hearts and eyes on my promises and choose to believe them today and every day.

2 Peter 1:3-4
Seeing that His divine power has granted to us everything pertaining to life and godliness, through the true knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and excellence. For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.
