Keep off the Grass

The Lord says, “In every area of life, it is the wisdom of man to protect costly investments. I want to encourage you to protect your heart like never before.  It is your most valuable asset; it affects every area of your life.

Many have been through a time of pruning – even stripping right back, which has involved heavy groundwork at heart level.  As your loving Heavenly Father, I know how hard it’s been. I am so proud of the way you have surrendered to the Holy Spirit’s ministry of healing and liberation from the wounds, blockages and hardness that have previously stunted growth.

And so now, just as a gardener puts boundaries in place to ensure new grass seeds are not trampled underfoot, I am a jealous God, who will passionately protect that which I have seeded within you. I will block those things that would prevent new life bursting forth. Work with Me and not against Me, by the leading of the Holy Spirit, as friendships change, old alliances and assignments are removed, and new alignments and assignments are revealed.

Your part in guarding your heart is to keep short accounts. Examine your motives, weed out the lies.  Deal with offence and pride.  Evict all compromise.

I need you to live powerfully, freely and securely for the sake of Kingdom growth and fruitfulness.  Keep your heart open, set apart to me and protected from the enemy as you step into the new.”

Activation: As you spend time with the Lord, ask Him to show you any areas of your life where you still need to surrender and let go in preparation for the new.  Allow God to search your heart and show you if there are blind spots, disobedience or compromise.  Repent and ask God to forgive you. Receive fresh faith to believe for expansion and growth.  Spend time praising God for who He is and what He is about to do.

Proverbs 4: 23 (TPT)

So above all, guard the affections of your heart,

for they affect all that you are.

Pay attention to the welfare of your innermost being,

for from there flows the wellspring of life.

Psalm 139:23-24 (NIV)

Search me, God, and know my heart;
    test me and know my anxious thoughts.
See if there is any offensive way in me,
    and lead me in the way everlasting.
