Junkyard of compromises – your Lion Bites word for today

I heard the Spirit say, ‘You have amassed a junkyard of compromises’. It is time to take an unbiased and serious look at your life and assess how much compromise you have allowed to become a part of your ongoing walk. This challenge is a great opportunity to enjoy a time of cleaning out what is not needed in your life and will eventually lead to you feeling more free and with a greater sense of liberty to be the mighty child of God that you have been created to be.
 
Just as junkyards are not always filled with huge objects but are instead vast collections of many smaller things, collected over a long time, so it can be with life. We add tiny little compromises to the straight and narrow call on our life and before long we have created a maze of ‘stuff’ that obscures the original vision. Ask yourself seriously, ‘Have I done this?’
 
It is time to have a big clear out. It might be painful to begin with but know that, as you do this in partnership with the Holy Spirit, who loves you, it is going to be an ultimately liberating and joyous experience! It won’t be long before you’re saying, ‘Why did I even allow myself to compromise in this or that area?’

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us,

In a wealthy home some utensils are made of gold and silver, and some are made of wood and clay. The expensive utensils are used for special occasions, and the cheap ones are for everyday use. If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honourable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.
