‘Joy to the World’ – and to you!

At Christmas we sing the words to the carol Joy to the World but we don’t always experience that joy ourselves. We sometimes let the practicalities of the season overwhelm us: things to do; presents to buy; people to catch up with. Whilst these are not bad things in and of themselves, we have lost our joy amidst all the doing.

In Nehemiah, it says, ‘the joy of the Lord is your strength’. So, if you’re feeling weary or burned out then check your joy levels. Take time out to spend time with Father, worshipping Him and lifting up His name. Let His joy fill you so that it overflows into everything you do.

We say, ‘Joy to the world and joy to you this Christmas season!’

Nehemiah 8:10
Then he said to them, Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared, for this day is Holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
