With the Lord, all things are possible. The festive season often forces us to confront situations that we would rather not face – including those ‘impossible’ relationships for which there seems no hope of redemption, no hope of a turn around.
Yet the Holy Spirit showed me a picture of a snooker (or pool) ball, heading towards the wall along the edge of its table. Just as the ball reflects from that cushioned wall at an opposite angle from its approach, so the Lord can turn things around when they seem to be on an impossible trajectory.
Seek the Lord’s help and intervention in those ‘hopeless’ family relationships. Be ready to play your part, as the Lord directs you. Believe that even the most stubborn of obstacles can be turned around. May your heart be full with the hope of the Lord!
Psalm 130:3-7
If you, O Lord, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared. I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I put my hope.
My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. O Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption.
