His banner over you was, is and always will be love! –  your Lion Bites word for today

I see a vast banner over you, and it has the word ‘love’ on it. This banner, so huge, encompasses everyone all together as well as each one individually – it entirely surrounds you, and you cannot escape from it. This banner is warm and comforting; it feels safe and inescapable – you can try to run from it, but still, you’ll find yourself surrounded by it.

Today, as you celebrate Christmas – remember why. God’s banner over you is love, and He demonstrated this by sending His son to the earth on a love mission.

John 3:6
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son for each one of us!”

Father God’s love was so extreme that He sent His only son to die for us. But this was not the end; it was only the beginning.

A baby in a manger, with a love-mission, an assignment from Heaven – to reconcile you to God; to open up a way for more than just a nodding acquaintance with God but a deep and passionate relationship. From a stable filled with animals and hay, God set in motion a love-revolution that never has and will never be stopped – it will just keep on getting stronger.

Today, as you tear paper off presents, take a turkey out the oven, and see to your Christmas traditions, remember to take time to recognise Jesus and tell Him how much you love Him. Maybe you need to ask for forgiveness for allowing your relationship to become a nodding acquaintance and, on this day that recognises the love revolution the birth of Jesus started, say to God that you want to start one again in your life.
