Sometimes it can feel like you are back where you began. Things can suddenly come full circle and you wonder what the point of the journey so far has been. Maybe you feel a sense of déjà vu. Maybe it appears in the natural like you have walked around the mountain many times and ended up back where you started from. Rest assured, you have come further than you know.
I am not a linear God – I am in the cycles. Completion in itself is a process. The extrication from the previous requires unwinding, unravelling and tying up, in order to move on to the next.
Like the rings in the core of a tree trunk, your life has many nested cycles, and each is larger than the previous. All of these build you, grow you, prepare you, and become part of your story, your strength, and your character.
John 6:5-13 (NIV)
He did not allow it to be wasted. He used it all. In the same way, God can take the things in our lives that seem to be a waste and turn them into something useful, even beneficial.
Philippians 1:4-6 (NIV)
In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
