Psalm 84:1-5 (NASB)
How lovely are our dwelling places, O LORD of hosts! My soul longed and even yearned for the courts of the LORD; my heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God. The bird also has found a house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even Your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God. How blessed are those who dwell in your house! They are ever praising you. How blessed is the man whose strength is in you, In whose heart are the highways to Zion!
Like a swallow or a sparrow that forgets the ability of flight is the child of God that forgets my presence. It is in my presence that there is fullness of joy. It is in my presence that your security and safety is, so why would a child of God enter each day without carrying and being aware of my presence? Like the ability of flight takes the swallow away from predators, so my presence protects you from the traps set by the enemy. As the wings of the bird carry it high into the air, so you are made to soar in my presence over obstacles and the mountains that stack up against you. Your joy will be found in my presence just as the swallow’s joy is found in its flight. So choose today to abide in my presence, do not be one who forgets how to fly.
Psalm 91:1-2 (NASB)
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust!”
