Enlist

Enlist! Enlist! Enlist!, says the Lord! 

These are the days when I am calling my people to enlist in my army, ready for orders. Just as the clock of heaven has changed with the season, so my voice is calling to my people to offer themselves for active service. You may say, “But we weren’t expecting to be called up just now. It disrupts other things in our lives.” 

But I say to you, what value is your life not lived in rhythm with me according to my purposes? There is nothing better to do than live in union with me doing the tasks I give you. Everything else has no eternal value. So, heed my invitation to make the widest space possible available to me in your heart. Surprise me with your yieldedness! Delight me with your eagerness! For in these days, my eyes are moving over the earth to see the hearts offered on these terms saying, “We are available Lord – heaven can have free rein in our lives”. 

Don’t be afraid. Do I not provide you with everything you need for battle just as I did for David again and again? Will you not see my movement on the earth unto harvest and glory as you offer yourself? Why would you settle for less? Come and let me release the living wild heart of heaven in you which will propel you into action. The days ahead are glorious so come!

Activation: Take time with the Lord to respond. Can you hear His call to enlist again in His army for the new season? Ask Holy Spirit to show you if you may be holding back. If so, why? Consider God’s promise to fully equip you for whatever may be ahead. Hand over any fear or hesitation you may be feeling to Him. Ask Him to show you what your wide open heart offered to Him looks like. Perhaps you sense it? End with a prayer that He helps you delight in Him with your eagerness. Let His love and peace enfold you.

Does not wisdom call, And understanding raise her voice? On top of the heights beside the way, Where the paths meet, she takes her stand; Beside the gates, at the opening to the city, At the entrance of the doors, she cries out: “To you, people, I call, And my voice is to mankind. You naive ones, understand prudence; And, you fools, understand wisdom! Listen, for I will speak noble things; And the opening of my lips will reveal right things. Haggai 1:3-8 (NLT)

Then the Lord sent this message through the prophet Haggai: “Why are you living in luxurious houses while my house lies in ruins? This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! You have planted much but harvest little. You eat but are not satisfied. You drink but are still thirsty. You put on clothes but cannot keep warm. Your wages disappear as though you were putting them in pockets filled with holes! “This is what the Lord of Heaven’s Armies says: Look at what’s happening to you! Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord.
