God longs to enjoy a face-to-face, distraction-free time with you where His focus is you entirely and all of your attention is fixed on Him alone. Hear and heed the invitation to pursue this kind of time with your Heavenly Father; for He is hungry and desperate to meet with you.
Be intentional about dealing with your distractions. Make a list of the ways you know your attention becomes occupied, taking you away from God, and bring them into the light before Him. These things will no longer have power over you as you recognise them and make them known to your Heavenly Father. Ask Him to forgive you for allowing your attention to be drawn away and then ask Him for strength to stay focussed and pursue Him, distraction-free. He wants to teach you how to linger; to wait beyond the awkwardness and to stay with Him for as long as He wills. Don’t rush off. Sit still and enjoy.
Micah 7:7
But as for me, I watch in hope for the Lord. I wait for God my Savior; My God will hear me.
