Though storms may rage around you, though waters may rise against you, though people may scorn and misunderstand you…..
Still I am closer than your skin, deeper than your dreams, and found within your heartbeat.
I am calling you to deeper levels of intimacy than you have ever known before.
The times of trial and testing in previous seasons have been a forerunner for now – for this time when your lifeline will be your proximity to me.
You have chosen to press further into me, even though the easier road would have been to distance yourself. You have prioritised time spent with me, listening to my voice and discerning my will.
I have met you in those desperate moments when your heart cried out.
I have met you, I have formed you, I have shaped you, and I have prepared you for the season to come.
In this season, you will need to know me, closer than close. Our intimacy will be your greatest weapon. Our knowing will be your deepest joy. Our union will be the strength that I have known that you will need.
So fold yourself beneath my wings, take refuge and comfort here.
Rest, recover, recharge and renew. For when you emerge, your confidence in me will be beyond anything you dreamed. Your faith will rise to meet the challenges that you face head on – safe within the knowledge that you are held, and covered. Because I AM, closer than close.
Activation: Take some time now to assess your proximity to Jesus. Ask him to show you what your union with him looks like.
Pray – ask him to take you into deeper levels of intimacy with him, ask him to remove any barriers that you are placing in the way so you can be entirely free in your union with him. Ask him to show you what it means to be folded beneath his wings. Bring to him the storms that are currently raging in your life, from this place of intimacy, ask him to give you the strategies and the faith that you need to overcome them.
Colossians 2:10 (NLT)
So you also are complete through your union with Christ, who is the head over every ruler and authority.
Psalm 61:1-5 (NIV)
Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth I call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe. I long to dwell in your tent forever and take refuge in the shelter of your wings. For you, God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.
