The ideal candidate will have experience of church leadership, be an excellent communicator and passionate about the vision and values of Global Prophetic Alliance (GPA). As part of the role, you will sit on the Senior Leadership of GPA. There will also be the opportunity to hire a p/t children’s worker to help with the role.

Power Church is not standalone but is one aspect of the HQ of a large global ministry with over twenty staff. This role sits within the Senior Leadership team, chaired by Emma and David Stark. GPA cultivates a generous culture that creates space for each area to grow within the limitless possibilities of the Kingdom of God. Nevertheless, we sharpen each other, and all cohorts and projects have a degree of interconnectedness. As such, leading Power Church is both distinct but not fully autonomous.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Spiritual Leadership:
  • Preach and teach the Word of God regularly (approx. twice a month), ensuring sermons are biblically sound, relevant, and applicable to the congregation’s life.
  • You will also be part of a teaching faculty at GPA that ministers in Power Church, events, training schools, conferences, and through online broadcasting.
  • Lead worship services, including Sunday services, special events, and other gatherings.
  • Oversee the organisation of baptisms, communion, baby dedications, Easter, Christmas and other key church life celebrations
  • Lead training sessions in the prophetic, prayer ministry and any other relevant areas
  • Facilitate the running of prophetic checkups.
  • Develop the specific mission and vision of Power Church alongside the senior team.
  • Participate in GPA broadcasts where required.
  1. Pastoral and Community Care:
  • Provide pastoral counselling and care to individuals and families within the church, including home visits, prayer, and support during times of crisis.
  • Empower and equip a pastoral team to provide similar care across the church community
  • Develop and implement the creation and ongoing running of small groups and wider discipleship
  • Facilitate the running of age related ministry including creche, children’s ministry, youth and young adults
  • Hiring and line management of a children’s worker
  • Facilitate social and community gatherings within the church community
  • Represent Power Church in the local community and build connections with other church leaders and organisations.
  1. Administrative leadership:
  • Oversee the budget for Power Church and work with the finance department to ensure financial integrity.
  • Manage a variety of volunteer teams including stewarding, hospitality and prayer ministry
  • Develop communication plans for regular and one off events, local GPA activities and to keep ministry team leaders, volunteers and attendees informed and engaged
  • Ensure GPA meets its obligations around safeguarding/PVG checks for local teams and ensure that all other legal requirements are met and maintained.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Church Leader and the growth of community.
  • A theological degree from an accredited university/seminary or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience in pastoral care and preaching.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A deep understanding of and commitment to the mission and values of the Global Prophetic Alliance.

Personal and Spiritual Attributes:

  • Humility, integrity and a servant-leader attitude
  • Compassionate, empathetic and approachable.
  • A proactive and positive attitude with a commitment to excellence.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with diverse teams.
  • A passion for Spirit-filled ministry, healing, deliverance, and the prophetic.
  • Enthusiastic about riding the waves of change and experimentation. As its name suggests, Power Church is comfortable with the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit and its members are always pushing into the extremes of what is possible in an outward focused church community.
  • Egalitarian with respect to female leaders. GPA is founded and led by Emma Stark and many of its leaders and ministers are female.

General

  • Engaging with staff ministry and prayer times on a regular basis.
  • Approaching challenges and problems with a spiritual perspective to seek God-centred solutions.
  • This is not an exhaustive list and the post holder may be required to undertake other duties as determined by the Executive Directors.

Tools you will be using:

ActiveCampaign (CRM database/email campaigns), Slack (internal comms), Google Workplace, ChurchSuite.

This post is subject to an Occupational Requirement that the postholder is a committed follower of Jesus Christ (under Pt1, Schedule 9 of Equality Act 2010) and is in full agreement with the GPA statement of faith.

Weekly prayer and worship meetings are a core part of our working week and most department meetings involve prayer and praise testimonies. A passion for Jesus and His church is essential.
