Bowls of desire

I see a stream of people raising up empty bowls to the Lord but even before He has started to fill them, they have taken them back again. The cry in their hearts is “Please Lord I need more of you!”

I heard God say:

‘My people, why do you not expect me to fill you up, to satisfy your hunger? Why do you listen to the lies of the enemy, when he tells you “you are not good enough”, or “it is for someone else and not you”? Surely, I will fulfill the desires that I myself have placed in your heart. Turn from trying to fulfill your own needs and recognise that I am the one who fulfills, I am the one who satisfies. Why do you turn to worthless things, to things that cannot satisfy? Return, return to me and I will give you the desires of your heart’.

Jeremiah 2:11-14
But my people have exchanged their glorious God for worthless idols. Be appalled at this, you heavens, and shudder with great horror,” declares the LORD. “My people have committed two sins: They have forsaken me, the spring of living water, and have dug their own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold water. Is Israel a servant, a slave by birth? Why then has he become plunder?

Psalm 37:4
Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.
