A time to be comforted – your Lion Bites word for today

The Lord has been speaking to some of us for a while about taking time out to receive His comfort, but we have been afraid. To those of us who this pertains to, the Lord says “Take some time to put down the tasks that once were timely but now have become the source of your feelings of significance and security, from which you have drawn your identity. For you are weary and need comfort. Yes, the rest I am calling you to seems overwhelming and when you stop you may feel insignificant and lost, to begin with, afraid of being engulfed with the vast open space around you, but I am coming to scoop you up.

I long to focus all my attention on you child and fill you with my comfort and rest. All your heart desires will pour out over your head, and you will be engulfed in peace. My words of delight over you will fill your heart with joy and restore strength to your soul. Come and rediscover the weightiness of who I have made you, the worthiness that is woven into the fabric of your being, enter into my rest and learn how to take it with you wherever you go.

Psalm 23: 1-6:
The LORD is my shepherd; I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures; he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
