A New Song

Have you ever noticed that birds wake up singing? 

Do they first consider where their next meal will come from or whether they’ll have shelter in a storm? Do they first have to know the news of the day or the economic state of their nation? 

No. None of these things matter. They simply wake up every morning and sing.

Beloved, I know there are a million reasons to wake up on the wrong side of the bed. At times, it happens without a thought, and it sets a negative tone for your day. The good news is, now that you are mindful, you can choose a different way.

I have an endless supply of joy for you. Choose joy first thing and watch as I put a new song in your mouth; a lovely melody to stir gladness in your heart and set a positive tone for your entire day. You will become that beautiful songbird that blesses everyone with a happy song, delivering sweet music to My ears.

Prayer:

Father, thank-you for helping me see that I can choose joy first thing, no matter what is going on around me. Let me be like a bird and start my day with a happy song. May it set the tone for my entire day and bless all those I come in contact with, including You!
