For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
â€â€Luke‬ â€12:34‬ â€(ESV‬‬)
I treasure you so much that I gave my son in exchange for you. I treasure you my child; I treasure all of my children. I was willing to pay the cost for their return. I counted the cost, even as my son counted the cost on the road to Jerusalem as he set his face to complete the task before him, as he wrestled in the garden of Gethsemane and yet submitted to my will, choosing the pain, the suffering and the agony, for the joy that was beyond the cross.
Have you counted the cost? Have you set your face to pay the cost of following, of being my child? Have you wrestled your will into submission to mine? Are there areas where it still feels like the cost is high, where you have not settled the wrestle?
What are the treasures of your heart? Are there still treasures that you prize more highly than me? They are so far outweighed by the treasure of Heaven. My son shines brighter than the most precious, earthly glitter. The Pearl of Great Price is worth every ounce of your life, every penny, every sacrifice, every lesser love relinquished.
Am I your greatest treasure?

â€â€Matthew‬ â€6:19-20‬ â€(NIV‬‬)
Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal.
Luke 9:24-25 (ESV)
For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?
Luke 12:20-21 (ESV)
But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul is required of you, and the things you have prepared, whose will they be?’ So is the one who lays up treasure for himself and is not rich toward God.
