Time to get dressed! – your Lion Bites word for today

Colossians 3:12-14
Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.

The Spirit of God is calling to us, ‘It’s time to get dressed!’

By this He means our spiritual clothing. Being dressed spiritually is something we have to actively do. Just as in the natural our clothes don’t just appear on us in the morning when we get up, so it is with our spiritual clothes.

These clothes should show who we belong to and what Kingdom we are citizens of. What we ‘wear’ should impact the world around us. As the chosen people of God we are called to clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, patience… but above all these to put on love.

Listen to the Holy Spirit’s challenge to you this day – ‘Whose clothes are you wearing today? Do they represent me and who I am or are you blending in with the world’s clothing?’

Make a choice each day to clothe yourselves with God’s ‘clothes’; to represent Jesus on the earth and, as a result, impact those around us for His glory and His Kingdom advancement!
