Galatians 4:6
Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”
Father God whispers gently in your ear today. Listen to what He says to you – ‘My dear child, I came and rescued you out of that land of fear where you lived, where you were a slave to sin, to your flesh, to death; where everything you did brought painful, hurting consequences. I took you out of that land and carried you across a great sea, a vast ocean. You are safe now, you cannot be returned to that old place.’
And He gave to you His Spirit, His Spirit of adoption. You can call Him, ‘Abba, Father’. Remember that you are His heir now. Cry out to Him today, ‘Abba, Father’. Make that your prayer today: ‘Abba, Father’. You received the Holy Spirit of God. By Him you cry out, ‘Abba, Father’. Repeat it until it sits deep within you, until it suffocates the old memories you have of that former land where you lived, the land of fear and consequences.
You are alive, adopted by Father God! ‘Abba, Father’
Romans 8:14-17
For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
