Overwhelmed by the Spirit

To those who are alone and know a natural isolation, the Lord says, ‘I am with you until the end of this age. I am closer than a brother, I am your friend and your close-comforter.’

There are also those who are battling with the emotion of loneliness, as it seeks to overwhelm. You even feel it rising up when you are around people and not far from connections! To you, the Lord says, ‘Guard your hearts, guard your emotions. Do not allow yourself to be overwhelmed by anything other than the perfect peace of the Lord.’

There are even distracting and destructive spirits of isolation, independence and orphan that would seek to gain footholds on the cloud of loneliness, as it gathers around your heart. Do not let them gain this ground. You are to take captive your thoughts. Jesus Christ says to you – ‘Have peace! You are not just flesh and not just emotion, you are also spirit. Allow My Spirit to overwhelm you. Allow My Spirit to surround and encompass your emotions…..’ And God’s word says that thanksgiving is key to victory in this area.

Philippians 4:6-7
Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God. And God’s peace [shall be yours, that tranquil state of a soul assured of its salvation through Christ, and so fearing nothing from God and being content with its earthly lot of whatever sort that is, that peace] which transcends all understanding shall garrison and mount guard over your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
