I heard the words, “Once bitten, twice shy!”, and it was as if a door slammed as the words were uttered and a heart was closed and locked up.
Then I heard the Lord say, “Is anything too difficult for me? Will you choose to trust on your own understanding and in your own ability to protect yourself, or will you put your whole trust in me?
When you rely solely on your own ability, you close your heart to everyone around you and, as a result, your heart becomes hardened and closed to me. You say, ‘Lord, I give you my life, I give you my heart.’ If so, then trust me to protect what you have given me. Don’t take it back again.”
Once bitten twice shy?
“Will you open your heart and allow me to protect you? Allow my love to flow through you, even to those that do not respond. My perfect, unconditional love is an invincible force and weapon against the enemy, and a joy that will fill your heart. My love and joy will bring healing to that which was once wounded.”
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the LORD with all your heart And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight.
