Matthew 5:10-12 NIV
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
I hear the Spirit of the Lord say, “Do not fear persecution when it comes, but rather, choose now how you’ll stand. Stand back and look at the host of righteous believers who has gone before you. Many, many were persecuted for my sake. Many have suffered because they stood for me. Great is their reward!
These are days that require conviction and courage. Hold true to my Word. Know my voice! Keep your eyes securely set on me! Do not waver! Let me give you the sight you need to see the big picture. See to the very end when you will stand before me and give an account for how you lived your life. Seek the King upon the throne – the One who suffered and gave His life for you. See Him and allow this to be what fuels your courage and conviction in the days ahead.”
Hebrews 12:2-3 NIV
Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
