Oh, my child, see how I have stripped you down to this moment, confronted with the foundation of your belief. As all the dross and the mess gets taken away, now, we see what is left. Do you see me, your chief cornerstone, rightly? In the shaking of the foundations of your faith, is it sturdy in the Word? Are you firmly planted in truth? Or did you build upon a misguided view of who I was and who I am? I don’t condemn you, but I come in kindness, so we can build a fresh understanding of what is true of my character. Let’s look together, and let’s get this right!
Psalm 11:3 NIV
When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do?
Ephesians 2:19-21 NIV
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone. In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord.
