The act of receiving my promises is not something that is done passively. I have given you the example of the humble shepherds, keeping watch over their flocks by night, as those who set an example to you. They responded immediately to what was spoken to them! They ran to Bethlehem to behold Jesus, the Saviour of the World, lying wrapped in a manger. They ran to see Jesus, the One who is the promise and the prophecy fulfilled! The shepherds told as many as they could, all the while, rejoicing and praising God!
My Sons and Daughters, will you reflect on and receive my promises even during this time of upheaval, shaking and uncertainty? Will you actively celebrate Jesus in the midst of it all, even though things don’t seem to be the way you would prefer them to be?
Speak to yourself and say:
Ears, hear His glad tidings.
Eyes, see His great glory!
Heart, be filled with great joy!
Feet, run with the good news!
For unto you a Saviour is born!
Isaiah 9:6 NIV
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Luke 2:15-18 NIV
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
