The Victories of Life in the Spirit

Judges 16:26-30
Then Samson prayed to the LORD, “O Sovereign LORD, remember me. O God, please strengthen me just once more, and let me with one blow get revenge on the Philistines for my two eyes.” Then Samson reached toward the two central pillars on which the temple stood. Bracing himself against them, his right hand on the one and his left hand on the other, Samson said, “Let me die with the Philistines!” Then he pushed with all his might, and down came the temple on the rulers and all the people in it. Thus he killed many more when he died than while he lived.

Remember today that your old self is dead. You shed the grave clothes of your former self when you stepped into the new life that Christ won for you. His Spirit reminds you that His victory is your victory – yesterday, today and forever.

Your successes and past achievements in this world are nothing compared with the victories that you will have today, tomorrow and the next day in your new life in the Spirit. What is more, in the coming week, you will be able to count these victories and you will be able to see the ‘temple pillars’ that surround you, crumbling, falling, before you. Make a record of them, write them down… give thanks and testimony for them… and then you will see even more than this!
