The holiday season can be a time of great joy but also great sorrow. For those who’ve lost loved ones, have a family that’s divided, or no family at all, it doesn’t always seem like the ‘most wonderful time of the year’. Loneliness can try to sneak up on you and despair can knock at your door.
But, the Father would say to you, ‘I will be your companion through this season. I will sit with you on your lonely nights and I will be the one who will help you light your Christmas tree. If you allow me to, I can make one of the most difficult times of the year for you one of your most treasured times. Focus on my presence and on my greatest gift to you – Jesus. Allow me to love you in full over these next few weeks and be amazed at how you’ll look back and think, ‘That was one of my most favourite holiday seasons so far.”
Psalm 139:7-10
Where could I go from your Spirit? Where could I run and hide from your face? If I go up to heaven, you’re there! If I go down to the realm of the dead, you’re there too! If I fly with wings into the shining dawn, you’re there! If I fly into the radiant sunset, you’re there waiting! Wherever I go, your hand will guide me; your strength will empower me.
