Swap busyness for ‘delight time’ –  your Lion Bites word for today

The business of your day has become all too consuming in recent weeks and months; busyness has become your norm and stress is a feeling you’ve grown accustomed to. Yet, this is not how Father God, your good Heavenly Father, your Shepherd, Friend and very kind King, intends you to live. He is inviting you to swap busyness for some ‘delight time’ where He can lavish Himself upon you.

He asks ‘Will you be intentional and choose to come and sit at my feet in the midst of the whirling winds of to-do lists, workloads, and busyness? Will you let me lavish my love upon you? I really do long to delight in you.

In the secret place, I saw your unformed body. In your growing from infancy till now, I’ve watched you intently and joyfully. In your picking up of false responsibilities, in carrying burdens that I never intended you to carry, in doing ‘stuff’ for everyone else and not for yourself, I’ve watched and grown concerned for your wellbeing. Will you let me help recalibrate your lifestyle? Will you allow me to medicate this ‘superhero mentality’ you so often struggle with? Will you let me delight in you?’
