There are new buds already growing all over the earth. The long-prophesied awakening in the earth has already begun and these green and tender shoots are springing up everywhere, strong, healthy and vibrant. These new shoots of life and awakening look very different from the established trees, plants and bushes.
Take heed, you who are mature and longer in the faith: it is time to clear your old leaves away, the old, brown leaves that have fallen from your branches. Your old leaves are blocking the light and limiting the growth of these new shoots. Do not allow your years, experiences or traditions to be a hinderance to the new growth; you are trying to conform them into your image! There are places in the garden that you are holding onto as if they are rightfully yours forever but you must sweep aside these notions and allow the new growth to come – you prayed and pleaded for this, after all! If you do, you will find that the Lord gives you immense joy and a new sense of satisfaction as He uses you to fertilise the new growth.
So, first of all, clear away your old leaves. Do not be a hinderance to the new.
Job 14:7-9
At least there is hope for a tree: If it is cut down, it will sprout again, and its new shoots will not fail. Its roots may grow old in the ground and its stump die in the soil, yet at the scent of water it will bud and put forth shoots like a plant.
