Have you found yourself in circumstances where there hasn’t been enough time in the day, so you have sacrificed precious time with God to meet the demands put upon you? I saw a person standing at a sink to have a wash when a deep bath was ready for them. There was a sense that they could not be completely cleaned but that they had become so used to this that they were impervious to their situation.
God is saying “for too long now you have made do with a quick prayer that you have almost forgotten how it feels to sink into the depths of my presence, to soak in my cleansing power, to have time to truly hear my voice and to bring alignment to things that have become misaligned. It is time to lay aside your maintenance mentality towards our relationship which was necessary for a season as now I want to reignite your passion for me, to bring fresh vision and energy. To help you discard the things that have hung onto you and feel free again.”
So today, if you think this applies to you, ask the Lord to show you how to create room for a good soak! Make those small changes that will re-establish a good cleansing routine.
Psalm 63: 2-5
I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and your glory. Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you. I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name, I will lift up my hands. I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods; with singing lips, my mouth will praise you. (NIV)
