Someone called out, ‘Turn Back!’ and I asked God what this meant. He said, ‘Turn back to believing in what you read in my word and not in what you see with your eyes and hear with your ears’.
So many of us set out on a new and exciting journey of faith, believing in the incredible miracles, healings, prayer results and transformations that we read about in the Bible – in the life of Jesus and throughout all the acts of the apostles. But, over time, we have wandered off this path and have become discouraged and even disillusioned. From this place, it is easy to begin to believe in what we see before us and around us. We begin to trust in our own experience again. Soon new ‘truths’ that are not God’s truths will harden around us and we will no longer be able to see things from a place of heavenly perspective and with great faith-expectancy.
Don’t allow yourself to go any further down this route! Recommit yourself to the truths of God’s word and turn back to the exciting journey of faith. Stop believing only with your eyes and ears and begin to reach out to the Holy Spirit and ask Him to lead you forward into fresh adventures.
John 10:37-38
Don’t believe me unless I carry out my Father’s work. But if I do his work, believe in the evidence of the miraculous works I have done, even if you don’t believe me. Then you will know and understand that the Father is in me, and I am in the Father.”
