Breaking agreement with disappointment – your Lion Bites word for today

‘I am breaking off disappointment from your life and from your circumstances,’ says God. ‘For it has been like a heavy blanket trying extinguish all that I have put in you, and on you. But now I come to break you out of disappointment and release you into rejoicing!’

Do not partner with disappointment any longer but rather fix your gaze on me and allow me to lift it off you right now. Repent of all the disappointments that you have been carrying and give them up to me in this moment; leave them behind for good. It’s also time to let go of all pain and negative emotions that lingered with the disappointment – give it up to me.

Disappointment desires to own you and stop you from moving forward with me. Break agreement with it now and let it go. Then step into joy.’

So give your disappointments to God and receive the restoration of your joy.

You could pray along these lines:
Christ Jesus, I am sorry for where I have held onto disappointment and the destructive emotions that came with it. I recognise where it has been stealing my joy and forward momentum in you and repent of this. I choose now to break agreement with disappointment and cut myself off from it. I now give up to you all the negative emotions associated with this. I forgive those who have disappointed me and who I have blamed for the pain and emotions that I have been carrying. I now release blessings on this person/people [personalise with names]. I thank you that to those who mourn you give the oil of joy and to those who despair you give a garment of praise (Isaiah 63). Jesus, would you now restore to me my joy and forward momentum?
