To those who are weary or tormented by the strivings and pressures of life, Jesus invites you to approach Him in the garden again. There is a garden of refreshing where you can sit, where you can walk, where you can be re-filled.
However, in all your busyness, the path to the garden has become overgrown and the gateway is no longer as visible as it once was. It’s time to clear the weeds away and push past all that would get in your way of crossing the threshold into this protected space of nurture and healthy growth.
When you enter the garden you will be reminded of colours, sights and sounds that you had forgotten. You will regain your sense of smell for the most fragrant things of life and you will re-learn how to smile and laugh again. Jesus stands by that overgrown gate and is beckoning to you to come to Him and walk in His garden of refreshing again.
Psalm 1:1-3
Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the Lord, and who meditates on his law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither – whatever they do prospers.
